

Deron James Growe, age 57, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1967 in Belleville, Illinois, to parents James and Alice Growe. Deron spent his early years growing up in Illinois before making Las Vegas his home.
Deron will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, a proud father, and a loyal friend to all who were fortunate to know him. A man of immense strength and courage, Deron faced life's challenges with an unyielding spirit. Despite undergoing three open-heart surgeries, he never allowed his health to stand in the way of providing for his family, working hard, and living life to the fullest. Deron's strong presence and charismatic personality had an undeniable way of brightening every room he entered. Known for his quick wit and playful nature, Deron brought laughter and joy to all around him.
Deron's career spanned over three decades in construction sales, where he became a respected leader and mentor. His success was a direct reflection of his dedication, integrity, and expertise. He played a pivotal role in numerous notable projects, earning a reputation as the go-to man when something needed to get done. His colleagues and customers admired him not only for his work ethic but for his unwavering reliability. He was known for his hospitality, always ensuring that those around him felt valued, taken care of, and had a great time.
Outside of work, Deron had a deep passion for drag racing, often spending countless hours in his garage with his son Warren, building and thrashing on race cars. Over the years, he owned and built more than 100 cars. Some of his favorites included his black 1970 Chevy Nova, his 1967 Pontiac Firebird with hot pink flames, and his black 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix. Deron also had a love for golf, and he proudly checked off a bucket list item by playing at two of the world's most prestigious PGA courses, Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay. When he wasn't racing or golfing, Deron enjoyed grilling, making spaghetti and spending quality time with his loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Deron was preceded in death by his brother Scott Growe and sister Rhonda Payton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kellye; children, Warren (Ashlyn) Growe and Jeffrey Settlage; sister, Pam (Ron) Meng; and brother, John (Denise) Gasawski.
Deron's legacy of strength, love, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A funeral service for Deron will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W Lone Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89130. Following the funeral service will be a private committal service at Palm Northwest Mortuary for immediate family only.
