Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery in Las Vegas. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial immediately following at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery. Arrangements are by Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery.
Diane was born in Palo Alto, California, to Lloyd and Lois Rudisill on August 11, 1958. She attended elementary school in San Jose & Jr. high and high school in Cupertino, California. On April 25, 1992, she married Steven Huston in Las Vegas. Diane and Steven lived in Ontario, California, before eventually moving to Las Vegas, where they purchased their first home together. Steven preceded her in death in February 2003. Diane later married Charles Perry Chapman on July 3, 2005, in Las Vegas, where they lived before moving to Pauline, Arizona.
Diane worked for Memorex in Santa Clara, California, for many years before beginning a career in medical billing and coding. She became a highly regarded professional coder and continued in the profession until her retirement in 2016. In 2018, Diane joined the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 40, in Chino Valley, Arizona. In 2020, she stepped into the role of President of Post 8, where she devoted herself to supporting veterans and the community. She was involved in many different events and activities benefiting veterans and those in need, continuing the spirit of service and generosity that was such an important part of who she was.
Diane was never afraid to do things her own way, a quality that was evident from a young age. She lived life to the fullest and with no regrets. She had a tremendous love for her cats and especially enjoyed the years she and her husband, Perry, spent living in Paulden, Arizona. There, she raised chickens and took great pleasure in feeding the neighborhood cows. She and Perry also loved taking motorcycle rides together.
Diane adored her nieces and spoiled them endlessly. She had a generous heart and never hesitated to help someone in need. In Las Vegas, she often organized sandwiches and cold bottled water to distribute to people experiencing homelessness.
Diane was preceded in death by her first husband, Steven Huston; her second husband, Charles Perry Chapman, who passed away in 2015; and her parents, Lloyd and Lois Rudisill.
She is survived by her sister, Sheila Daysh, and her husband, Steve; and her beloved nieces, Alexandra Marra, Julia Marra, Christina Marra, Samantha Marra, and Meghan Daysh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any local animal shelter in Diane’s memory.
