Tita Digna was a great neighbor of mine. Unfortunately I was not able to attend her memorial service today, because of family obligations. I truly miss her. Every time I step out of my apartment  memories come to mind. Before she became ill. I would see her outside her front door doing her  crossword  puzzles sitting on a chair. I always greeted her whenever I saw her and told her that  I would help her in anyway possible. I made a promise to his son, James that I would look out for his mom. She was very thoughtful and would offer things to me whenever I did something for her, but most of the time I would decline her offer . I wish her internal rest.  I am saddened by her passing and I know all of you are also, but she is no longer alone now that she is reunited with her dear husband, son and her ancestors. All I can say is “ I love you “, Tita Digna and “I miss you”.

What can I say about an aunt who will be missed a lot? Digna was one of my mother's (Herminia) younger sisters.  She was very kind, caring and loving.  My brothers and sisters loved her dearly. Whenever we visited Las Vegas we never failed to see her and spend time with her. We had fun together eating out and playing slots together. She even taught me how to play video poker.  Last October my sisters Nenette and Gladys, my husband David and I went to see her.  It was already a challenging time for her.  She was in and out of the hospital for recurring bouts of pneumonia.  The next time my husband and I visited in February she was back in the hospital.  Sadly that was the last time we saw her alive.  To her children, my cousins, your loss is our loss.  We won't be seeing her sweet face, hearing her kind voice and receiving her loving hugs.  May we always remember her affectionately as we go on with our lives. Rest in peace.
