Dominic E. Terracciano Jr., born March 23, 1958, in Buffalo, New York, to Dominic and Anna Terracciano, grew up alongside his four siblings and lived a life defined by devotion to family, hard work, faith, and a joyful competitive spirit.
From an early age, Dominic demonstrated the character that would define his entire life. At just 12 years old, he started a paper route and faithfully gave his earnings to help support his family. That selfless dedication never changed. Whether at work, at home, in church, or anywhere he went, Dominic always gave his very best to those around him.
As a young man, Dominic worked as a busboy and quickly earned a promotion to gourmet waiter through his strong work ethic and determination. Later, he joined Curtis Mathis, where he became one of the company’s top salesmen. He earned Salesman of the Month so many times that it seemed he was Salesman of the Year. His success led to him being featured in a newspaper article recognizing his achievements with the company.
While building his career, Dominic took business classes with a dream of helping his father start a business. That dream became a reality in 1986 when he helped establish the family business, Dominic & Sons, which remains in operation today—a lasting testament to his vision, dedication, and commitment to family.
The Terracciano family became well-known and respected within the local Italian community. When Dominic & Sons opened, the family was featured in a local Italian newspaper and magazine, recognizing both their growing business and the strong family values that were at the heart of its success. Dominic took great pride not only in building a successful company, but in building a reputation for integrity, hard work, and dedication to family.
One of Dominic’s favorite stories was how he met the love of his life, Debra. After his family moved to Las Vegas, Dominic convinced his brother to accompany him to a local ice rink located between Las Vegas and Henderson. On the drive there, they became lost and nearly turned around, but Dominic was determined to continue.
Meanwhile, Debra had gone to the same rink with her brother and an exchange student her family was hosting. Upon arriving, she realized she had accidentally left the money for admission sitting on the kitchen table. She debated whether to return home or stay, but ultimately decided to go home, get the money, and come back. Had either of them changed their minds that day, their paths may never have crossed. Instead, they met at that ice rink, and the rest is history.
Together, Dominic and Debra built a beautiful life and raised five children in a loving Christian home. Their faith was central to their family life, and they were deeply involved in church ministries and community outreach programs.
One such outreach was called Solid Rock, where Dominic participated in the drama team while Debra played in the band. Dominic was known for his larger-than-life personality and his gift for improvisation. During performances, he would often change a line or add an unexpected action because he believed it improved the scene—and because he was confident his fellow actors could keep up. His humor, creativity, and ability to make people laugh made him a natural performer.
Another church outreach involved community picnics and sporting events at local parks. Whenever there was a competition, Dominic was eager to participate. Many assumed they could easily defeat him because of his size, but they quickly learned otherwise. Time after time, he surprised everyone with his athletic ability and competitive spirit.
Dominic was a remarkably gifted athlete who excelled in nearly every sport he played. He was the quarterback of his high school football team, played basketball, participated in city intramural hockey while living in Arizona, and even practiced with semi-professional tennis players. Whether on the football field, basketball court, tennis court, or hockey rink, he brought the same determination, skill, and enthusiasm that characterized every aspect of his life.
Above all else, Dominic loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose generosity and loyalty touched countless lives. His strength, humor, faith, and unwavering commitment to those he loved will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Dominic is survived by his beloved wife, Debra; his children, Dominic IV and his wife Cara, Matthew and his wife Teresa, Nicholas, Joseph, and Andrea and her husband Brian; his three precious grandchildren, Josephina, Abigail, and Dominic V; and his siblings, Angelo, Julie, Maria, and Anthony, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the faith he shared, the business he helped build, and the countless lives he impacted through his kindness, humor, and love.
A life well lived. A man deeply loved. A legacy that will endure.
