Donald L. McHale, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 18, 2013. He was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Scottsbluff, Neb. During his long life, he worked on several ranches in Nebraska where he developed his love for horses. He moved to California for a few years and worked as a painter until 1962. He then moved to Las Vegas and became a police officer on the Las Vegas Police Department, which later became the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He career spanned 27 years, the last 20 as a sergeant. Don retired in 1990. He loved hunting and riding horses. He loved his family. Don is survived by his wife, of 28 years, Rayetta; daughters, Shawn McHale and Dawn Marberry; son, Shannon; two stepsons, Matthew and Raymond Novack; stepdaughter, Leslie Pagato; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
