Donald E. Young

DONALD YOUNG Beloved husband, father, granddad, son and brother, Donald E. Young, 65, of Las Vegas, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 17, 2011. Don passed peacefully in his sleep. He was born Jan. 21, 1945, in Dragerton, Utah, and grew up all around Utah. He became a resident of Las Vegas in 1973. Don was self-employed and was an active member of the West Charleston Lions Club. Don was enigmatic, gregarious, eternally optimistic and was always the funniest person in the room. He was loved and admired by many and will be greatly missed. Don was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Marjorie Young. Don is survived by the love of his life, his wife, of 39 years, Lynda; loving daughter, Ragan; caring and wonderful son-in-law, Jim; granddaughter, Lexie, who was the light of his life; beloved father, Leo A. Young; brothers, Kent (Judy) Young and Keith Young; sisters, Marlene (Alan) Calderwood and Marilyn Young; uncle, Junior (Julie) Haddon; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Don was loved and admired and will be greatly missed by his family and wonderful friends. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, with a celebration of Don's life following, both at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the West Charleston Lions Club Foundation, 501C3, West Charleston Lions Club, P.O. Box 26162, Las Vegas, NV 89126.
