

Douglas E. Fellows passed away at his home in Las Vegas, surrounded by family, following a lengthy illness on December 16, 2015. He was seventy-five years of age. He was born October 19, 1940 in Preston, Idaho to Verl Fellows and Hilva Olson Fellows. He attended school in Preston, Idaho and then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico. After his mission he attended Brigham Young University graduating as an educator of Spanish with a minor in History. He married Geneva Beazer Fellows in the Cardston, Alberta Canada Temple on April 16, 1965. After graduating from BYU, he obtained a Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University. He accepted a teaching job in Las Vegas, Nevada where he taught primarily Spanish at Cashman and Brinley Junior High Schools and Bonanza High School. He received the Outstanding Faculty Award in 1993. He loved sports, especially when he was teaching, coaching or rooting for his children. Hunting and the outdoors were hobbies he loved. He was an active member of the LDS church serving in many positions of leadership, and loved the program of the Boy Scouts of America. Above all, he was a faithful companion to his wife who he loved with all his heart. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Survived by his wife Geneva, four children Christine (Kent) Gunnell, Steven (Jennifer) Fellows, Michele (Chad) Lewis, and Mark Fellows and has nineteen grand children whom he loves with all his heart. Predeceased by his mother, father, two brothers and sister-in-law. A viewing will be held on Monday December 21st, 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada. An additional viewing will be held Tuesday, December 22nd at 10:00 AM at the LDS chapel located at 3400 West Charleston Blvd., with a service to follow at 11 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens Park, 7251 West Lone Mountain Road.
