DOYLE DILLARD Doyle Matthew Dillard, 90, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 28, 2011. He was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Ridgeway, Ill., and was a 65-year resident of Nevada. Doyle Dillard grew up on a family farm in Ridgeway, with his parents Aaron and Carrie Dillard. He was the fourth of five boys. At age 21, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a petty officer, second class aboard the USS Wichita until an honorable discharge in 1946. In a downtown Las Vegas chapel Sept. 11, 1943, he married Mary Richardson. They welcomed their only child, son, Thomas Doyle Dillard in 1946. Dillard owned and operated Ben's Key Shop in Las Vegas for 25 years. He retired at age 50 dedicating his time to his family and helping his grandchildren and great-grandchildren attend college. His greatest qualities is his love and generosity to others. He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Dillard (1967); mother, Carrie Duty (1948); and siblings, Wayne, Harold, Blan and Charles. Doyle is survived by his son, Thomas Doyle Dillard (DelRae); grandchildren, Tom Dillard (Tonya), Aliesha Dillard-Goodwin (Ron), Tim Dillard (MaryAnn), Audra Dillard and Amanda Dillard; great-grandchildren, Ronnie (20), Seth (18), Ryan (16), Sabrina (15), Ashley (15), Caleb (11), Luke (8), Megan (6), Lauren (4), Ramie (2) and Emily (1).
Viewing will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow at Palm Memorial Park.
