On Sunday, September 14, 2014, Dustin Huffman left this life suddenly to be with the Lord. Charles Dustin Huffman was born on September 6, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the second child and first son of Chuck and Rose Huffman. Growing up in Vegas he graduated from Bonanza High School in 1997 and later graduated with a Bachelors of Kinesiology from California Baptist University. While at Cal Baptist, Dustin enjoyed being a part of the Lancers baseball team. In his final semester of college, he met the love of his life, Nicole Ogden. Upon returning from their mission trip to Belize he knew she would be his wife. He and Nichole were married in 2003 and soon began a family with the birth of Aubree (7), followed by Hailey (6) and completed with the birth of their son Charlie (4). Dustin began his career in the ministry serving as a children’s pastor (Clovis Hills Community Church, Clovis, CA), then a mission’s pastor and finally as the Community Pastor at Shadow Hills Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dustin will be forever remembered for being a lover of kids and baseball, his quiet sense of humor and as CBU baseball’s biggest fan. Whether it was an extended family trip or a night or two away these were cherished times well spent with his most precious possession, his family. Dustin’s life verse was Philippians 1:21 - “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Dustin is survived by his loving wife, Nichole Huffman; his children Aubrey, Hailey and Charlie. Also, missing him is his mother Rose Huffman and his siblings; Mandy Adcock and her husband Gary of Riverside, Ca., Joe Huffman and wife Jennifer and David Huffman of Las Vegas, Nevada. A memorial fund has been established for the family and donations can be sent to Shadow Hills Church attention: Dustin Huffman Memorial.
