

She was born May 27, 1928, in Montgomery, Alabama to Edd and Georgia Hadley. She was first married to Bernard Hamilton, Sr, in Montgomery, to whom they had two children together. She divorced and went on to marry Walter L. O’Neal, to whom they had four children. She was a dedicated military wife and mother who traveled to several places and after retirement returned to her roots in Montgomery, Alabama whereas a faithful member of Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (as a child attended Sunday School, youth activities and church) She became a Deaconess, Missionary, member of the Evangelism Board, the culinary committee, and food bank worker/distributor. She helped with the Lomax Hannon of the AME Zion Church. She lit up the church when the spirit hit her and danced from the back of the sanctuary to the front and back to the rear of the sanctuary. Praising the Lord all the time.
After the death of her husband Walter, she returned to the Las Vegas to live with her children where she attended Trinity United Methodist Church, serving on Society of St. Stephan Food Rescue. She was an active member of Nevada for the Common Good, an organization dedicated to social justice for the citizens of Nevada and Emmaus, Spiritual Walk Program.
She loved attending services at various churches and one of them was St. James the Apostle Catholic Church where she enjoyed listening to its Gospel Choir and attending their annual Gospel Jazz Brunch Fundraiser with her daughter. She had many friends throughout Las Vegas whom she enjoyed attending their worship services. Eddie Mae dedicated her life to serving the Lord.
Eddie Mae’s memory will live on through her loving family. Her children, son Bernard Hamilton (Judy), grandchildren Julie Hamilton, Jasmine Hamilton and Steve B. Hamilton; daughter Birdie Hamilton Ray (Kirby) grandchildren; Kilynda Ray Middleton (Jesse))and Kristle Ray Carter (Christopher); son Michael O’Neal (Carolyn deceased) -grandchildren: Jason Mack, Angeline Mack-Jones, Carbaira Williams, and Tavion Mack; son Antoney O’Neal, daughter Annette O’Neal grandchildren, Felecia O’Neal, Katrina Mack, and Laquichia O’Neal Adamo (Ciro); son Edward O’Neal (Keshi) – grandchildren: Tyler Sanders, Morgan O’Neal, Courtney O’Neal; 31 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends.
