Elizabeth Laura Isaacs, known lovingly as Liz or Lizzie, passed away on September 21, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on December 3, 1959, in Orlando, Florida, to Dorothea Maher and John D. Maher.
Liz built a life defined by devotion to her family and an unwavering commitment to those around her. On August 29, 1982, she married Johma Isaacs, and though their marriage ended in June of 2003, she continued to pour herself into the people she loved. For more than thirty years, she worked at Grainger, a testament to her steadfast work ethic and dedication, retiring in 2025 after a distinguished career.
Those who knew Liz remember her warmth and her generous spirit. She was kind and personable, with a gift for making friends feel like family. She loved her family fiercely and took great pride in them, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her care extended into everything she did, from baking and crafting homemade gifts to cheering alongside her family while watching sports. An avid dog lover, she found great joy in the company of her four-legged companions.
A devout member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Liz served her congregation faithfully and with great love. She had a special place in her heart for the primary children, and her ministry among them reflected the gentle, nurturing nature that touched all who knew her. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life, and it guided her every step with grace.
Liz is survived by her daughter, Natasha D. Petty; her son-in-law, Sheldon Petty; her sister, Patricia Wright; and her brother, John Maher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothea Maher and John D. Maher.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on October 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Paradise Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 4575 S. Sandhill Rd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89121.
