Elta Marie Whittle, age 93, of Las Vegas, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2014 in North Las Vegas. Born May 1, 1920 in Westby, Montana, to Walter and Caroline (Nielsen) Olsen, and graduated from Westby High School, Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington and Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California. She had worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and income tax preparer for many years before retiring at the age of 65. She had traveled extensively during her lifetime having lived with her husband in their fifth wheel trailer exclusively for thirteen years. She and her husband came to Las Vegas and moved into the Grand Court. She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis Whittle, son, Glenn Cooper, step-son William Whittle, her parents and brother, Irvin Olsen. Survivors include her sons Eric (Yvonne) Cooper, Jan (Margie) Cooper, step-daughter Patricia (Jay) Andrews, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. All services will be in Whittier, California. Local arrangements entrusted to Palm Mortuary, South Jones.
