

She was born September 8, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Katherine and Valentine Klarich, who both immigrated to the U. S. from Croatia. She is preceded in death by four older brothers, Anthony, Matthew, Philip and Rudolph and three older sisters Mary, Frances and Katherine.
The family had their own farm in Manistique, Michigan, where they raised animals and farmed the land as well. For the first 8 years of her schooling, Eve attended a one room schoolhouse where all 8 grades were taught by a single teacher. She attended Manistique High School, graduating in 1946 with honors.
After graduation, Eve entered the workforce. First hired in as a secretary and later with a position in sales, she worked for Manistique Paper Co. for 16 years. It was in 1947, that she met Jack Martin, who was also employed by the paper mill. They dated for 2 years and married in the Catholic Church on July 23, 1949. The couple celebrated 66 years of marriage before Jack passed away in 2016.
In 1962, the family moved across the country to southern California. The couple owned a total of four businesses over a 22 year period where Eve did the bookkeeping. Eve also returned to working in the secretarial field that she knew so well. She worked for 3 different aerospace companies in CA over 18 years. After the move to Las Vegas, Eve worked for AAA for eight years and retired from the Summerlin office in 1997 at the age of 69.
Eve was an avid sports fan and took trips to see her favorite teams play, namely the Michigan Wolverines, Green Bay Packers and Detroit Tigers. She was also an excellent bowler and bowled in several leagues and traveled to compete in many tournaments.
She was a wonderful hostess and welcomed many friends and relatives to her home. Eve was an excellent cook, making many scratch recipes including her famous chicken soup with homemade noodles.
She is survived by her only child, daughter, Beth Ann and son-in-law William Ross of Las Vegas, two granddaughters, Jaclyn Zarp, husband Christopher of Chino, California and Nicole Lane of Glendale, Arizona as well as three great granddaughters, Kayla, Peyton and Maycee Zarp. She was a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews across the country.
A memorial service will be held at the Southern Nevada Veterans’ Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, desert style plants are preferred due to the extreme heat in the area at this time of year.
