Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend, Evonne loved to dance. Throughout most of her adult life, she also enjoyed traveling, swimming, calligraphy, crocheting, and playing the piano.
Evonne loved sharing her joy with others. Teaching aqua aerobics at the Y and calligraphy classes brought her great happiness. She was proud to be a descendant of the Arguello family and enjoyed researching its history.
Evonne also cherished being a dog mom to her beloved pets: sheepdogs Misty Blue and Nikki Blue, golden retriever Rock, and her “cream” Dulcinea.
Evonne will be greatly missed by her family and friends. For almost 52 years Evonne cherished the life she shared with the man she deeply loved and was completely devoted to, Stanley Alpern, who preceded her in 2024. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Evangeline; her dearly beloved Aunt Bea; her wonderful sisters, Terry and Gloria; and her godson and nephew Ruben Cuellar.
She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Miller, son-in-law Matthew, and grandson Ian; her son, Daniel, and daughter-in-law Karen; her nieces, Cynthia Kussman, Maria Elena Rueda, and Denise Spayd, along with their children and grandchildren; her nephews, Joe Zuniga Jr., David Zuniga, and Anthony Cuellar, along with their children; and two stepchildren, along with their children and grandchildren.
