

Faye Evelyeene Smith passed away at the age of 69 on January 13, 2017. She was born on May 1, 1947 in Oklahoma and had been a resident of Nevada for more than 45 years. After graduating from high school, Faye relocated to California to find her future. Consequently, she met her future husband, John Smith and was married on June 4, 1966. During her 50+ years of marriage, she was an office clerk in California; a loving housewife and supportive mother in Houston, Texas; in the 1960's, and then she and her family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1971. For many years, Faye owned and operated a child care service. Faye changed careers and became an employee of the Clark County School District for 30 years. She climbed the corporate ladder to an Office Manager, from which position she retired. Faye’s retirement allow to enjoy her husband, grandchildren and the many members of her family and friends more. She loved to network with them as often as time would allow, and beyond.
She is survived by her loving husband, John F. Smith; son, John D. Smith; daughter, Michelle (Brad) Lewis; four grandchildren, Ariel and Milo Lewis of Las Vegas, NV and Zoe and Dannielle Smith of McKinney,TX; three siblings, Lewis Overcast of Las Vegas, NV, Jack Overcast and JoAnn Tucker both of Cypress, TX; and her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, February 18th at 1:00pm at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 South Jones Blvd, Las Vegas NV 89146.
