

Filiomalo was an individual who enjoyed life’s challenges. Her parents were Fesuiailelamalemasina and Fetu Lagai. Filiomalo was raised in Fitiuta Manúa, American Samoa. Always able to express herself well, Filiomalo possessed strong interpersonal skills. She was optimistic in her outlook on life and was able at all times to be open and direct in her communication. Armed with a great wit, Filiomalo was raised to be accepting of others and to implement a strong personal work ethic.
On August 5, 1961 Filiomalo exchanged wedding vows with Pulenuutu Faaumu Tevaseu Tafaoa at the First LMS, Church of Fitiuta Manua American Samoa. Filiomalo was attentive to Pulenuutu's feelings, and she charmed Pulenuutu and others with her gift for being able to give freely and generously. A good listener with an engaging personality, Filiomalo was able to bring pleasure and unexpected humor to the relationship.
Filiomalo passed away on June 29, 2012 at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Filiomalo fought a brave battle against CHF Arthritis, Ulceritis, Hypertension and Diabetes. She was my Hero my mentor. She is survived by her eight children; Salote, Tia, Emila, Mulivae, Kalahati (deceased), Armstrong, Faaumu Jr., and Toovalu (deceased), nineteen grandchildren; Taumaloto, Juanita, Teuila, Wayne, Mina, Christopher, Melenaite, Jessica, Jerica, Johnson, Spencer, Kristy, Jirah, Adonai, Armstrong Jr., Valasi, Noah, Nolan, Tafaoa, three great grandchildren; Saia Taiamoni Lynford Fonahema, Lutuaiafa, Filiomlalo, Fonohema and Jayden Kai Pueata Faaumu. Services were held at Palm Mortuary. Filiomalo was laid to rest in Palm Mortuary in La Vegas, Nevada.
