

Floyd Stewart was born on June 30, 1930 in Bryan, Texas to Henry Stewart and Gertie Davenport Stewart. He was one of fourteen children of which twelve preceded him in death. He accepted Christ at an early age. As a young man, Floyd served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On February 15, 1951, he was united in marriage to Laura Mitchell and to this union two children were born, Larry (deceased) and Bernadine. The Stewart family lived in California for over thirty years and then moved to Las Vegas in 1997. Floyd was a long-distance truck driver most of his adult life, continuing even after his retirement. He enjoyed sports and spending time with family. In 1998, he united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until death. He leaves to mourn, his wife Laura and daughter Bernadine Troup of Las Vegas, NV; sister Elsie Russworm of Victorville, CA; three grandchildren Halis Reed of Denver CO, Dennis Stewart and Joseph Alexander of Las Vegas, NV; two great grandchildren Giovani Reed and Logan Alexander and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
