Frank Dean Colaw, 69, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on January 7, 2024 after a well fought battle with Kidney Cancer.
Frank was born on December 28, 1954 to Mary and Frank Colaw in Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, Missouri in 1973. Frank earned his BA in History from Westminster College in 1976, his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri in 1981, and his MBA from the University of Southern California in 1993. He was admitted to the State Bar of Missouri on October 3, 1981 and was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 13, 1989.
Frank was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aerospace as a Corporate Attorney in Missouri until he was transferred to their Southern California location in 1988. He transitioned to being employed by the Boeing Company in California as a Corporate Attorney and as a Director of Finance after McDonnell Douglas was purchased by Boeing in 1997. He retired from the Boeing Company in 2014.
Frank was a faithful man of God and a loyal member of Faith Community Lutheran Church. He loved working in his garden, going deep sea fishing in Alaska and Mexico, visiting wineries in Santa Barbara County with best friends, playing cards, traveling to Cabo, and enjoying a bowl of ice cream with his granddaughters. Frank loved making plans and was always on the go. Most of all he loved rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas Jayhawks.
He is survived by his wife Susan (Johnson) Colaw, brother John Colaw, son Kenneth Colaw, daughter Cara (Colaw) Giovani, son-in-law Adam Giovani, three granddaughters, Sawyer, Reagan and Addison Giovani.
He was preceded in death by daughter Cassandra Colaw, father Frank Edwin Colaw, and mother Mary Ellen Colaw.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Community Lutheran Church, 3505 S. Town Center Drive, Las Vegas NV 89135 on Thursday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made in Frank’s name to Cedars-Sinai designated to support the kidney cancer research at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.
