

Retired Technical Sergeant, Frank James Kloppenburg passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and unwavering dedication to those around him. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served his country with honor and distinction throughout his military career.
During his time in the Air Force, Frank earned numerous awards and commendations in recognition of his commitment and excellence. His honors include the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal with four devices, the Air Force Longevity Service Award with three devices, the Air Force Training Ribbon, the Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, the Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with two devices, the National Defense Service Medal, the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon/Rifle, the NCO Professional Military Education Medal with one device, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with three devices, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with four devices. These distinctions reflect a career defined by integrity, discipline, and service to others.
Beyond his military accomplishments, Frank was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart and lifelong love, Carmella Iatarola-Kloppenburg. Together, they built a life full of adventure, traveling the world side by side and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Their bond was one of deep love, partnership, and enduring commitment.
Frank had a profound love for his family and friends. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: watching movies, spending time with loved ones, and caring for his pets.
He is preceded in death by his father, Heinz Kloppenburg, his sister, Evelyn Kloppenburg, and his brother, Ralph Kloppenburg; in-laws and friends who are all welcoming him into the gates of Heaven.
He is survived by his loving mother, Anne Marie Kloppenburg, his brother, Heinz (Donna) Kloppenburg; his in-laws, Thomas (Theresa) Iatarola, Lita (Iatarola/Filippo), Marci (Kevin) Crozier, and Jo-Etta (Glenn) Bonnetts; he has countless nieces and nephews on both sides whom he loved endlessly. Frank’s presence, kindness, and strength will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Frank is now reunited with his beloved wife, Carmella, and together they rest in peace
A Committal Service will be held at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV 89005, on April 30, 2026, at 12:40 pm.
