For you, my "adopted" Dad - I have so many amazing memories of and with you, they could fill a book. My favourite will always be you sitting in your recliner in the living room, with your pipe (that cherry tobacco was the best). The trip that started in the pop-up trailer that turned into an amazing fifth wheel during that incredible summer. How many pictures of me taking a bite of something or other to eat did you get over the years - more than anyone else, that's for sure. Somehow you were always there at just the right moment, and for so much more than the pictures. Did you really sit through an entire weekend of North & South with us girls in Koeppern? Yep - you sure did. I will be eternally grateful that I met you, got to know you, was "adopted" by you (and the whole family) and could call you "Dad". I have missed not having opportunities to see you over the years, and will now miss you even more, every day. You (with the whole Nargie family) were my "normal" at a time when so many things in my life were anything but. Love you. Your "adopted" daughter, Barbie

Some of my earliest and favorite memories are of summer trips with Nonna and Papa. I remember sitting in a booth at a restaurant somewhere with Gedion when we were still in booster seats. I remember the yummy trail mix that I used to pick all the m&ms out of and only sometimes eat the pretzels. Papa was always in the driver's seat, leading us to wherever we were going next. Papa was always the tech guy; he always had new and interesting devices to use. What was that thing called? A palm pilot? I don't know what that thing did but he had one when it was new and cool, with the little stylus and all. At the condo, I remember Papa asleep? awake? in his recliner. The tv was probably on the hallmark channel. If it was, then Papa's laptop was playing the news. If the tv was on something else, then Papa was watching the hallmark channel. One of the funniest times was when we ran out to Culver's to get dinner while Nonna and Papa stayed back. Dad had recently discovered his new favorite sandwich, the pork fritter. We got home and distributed everyone's meals. The family was contentedly eating, strewn throughout the dining and living room. But when dad went to eat his sandwich, oh no! They must've gotten my sandwich wrong and gave him a hamburger instead. As soon as dad said this, though, Papa went, oh, did you order a pork thing? Turns out Papa had eaten half of Dad's sandwich quietly in his corner. When we asked why Papa didn't say anything about very obviously not eating a hamburger, he said "I just thought this is what Nonna ordered me". No questions asked, he just ate what was in front of him. Despite Papa's silliness, I always knew I could go to him if I needed help. He always knew how to fix any problem, and if he didn't, then he would come up with a solution (like wiring some cable through the entire house's ceiling to get it exactly where he wanted it).

I will always remember Frank as a great Dad. I could tell from the moment I met him that he was exactly that.
Of course he did all the things you’d expect a great Dad to do. I looked up to Frank the way I look up to my own Dad. He worked hard, cared for his family, and cherished and adored the love of his life, of course he did all those things, and did them well.
My most fond memory of Frank was when Kylie was born he gave me some really good advice. I’ve known since that day the strength of a man’s love for his children knows no bounds. That advice has stuck with me to this day. When the chips have been down and the challenges piled up, I’ve reached back to that advice to remind me to treat people with kindness and respect, the way you would want your own loved ones to be treated.

Frank was also my buddy. We did guy stuff, and built and fixed things. His ability to fix anything was amazing. We had a beer with dinner regularly and talked football. Frank liked to tinker and fiddle curiously with stuff the way I did. He had a firm hand shake and expected you to do the right thing.

I never called him Dad, but missing “Dad” will last the ages, for the rest of our days, because his impact on us has been profound and the memories will never fade.

Thank you for all the opportunities to "climb high" & all the adventures I found in doing so. I will always be climbing....

Here is another photo I found of the family back in Chicago.  Frankie and my brother Bobby are sitting on the vase on the right.

I meant to include this photo in my last message.  It was taken a "few" years ago.  Frankie is sitting on the floor and I'm to the right of him.

This is surely an unhappy time for everyone who knew and loved Frankie.  I’m sure everyone must be very sad about his passing.  I know I was when I heard the socking news. 

 Frankie was a very special person in so many ways.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend to mention just a few.  My heart goes out to all those that love him.  He most certainly will be missed.

In recent years our paths didn’t cross much due to the distance but when they did it was like old time sake.  I remember Frankie as a very happy and caring person that was able to make those around him feel important.

I wish we could have lived nearer to each other so that the close relationship we had could have continued and our children could have grown up knowing each other like Frankie and I did both in Chicago and Los Angeles.  Those childhood years will always be remembered, as will Frankie.


Frank was a very patient co-worker of mine and I learned some new programming skills because of him. I am forever grateful he took the time to make sure “I got it” and it helped me tremendously. 

So sorry to hear about Frank, I remember working with Frank at Citi in Las Vegas. We remained Face book friends since then.  Prayers to Gloria and all of Frank's family. He will be greatly missed. He was a great coworker and friend.

Kay and I were sorry to hear about Uncle Frank, love and prayers to Aunt Gloria and family.

Frank will be missed by all who had any interaction with him.  I was able to meet him through a very interesting meeting of his wife Gloria and his daughter Christi at a train station platform waiting to head into Frankfurt Germany.  Almost as soon as I walk into their home in Koeppern I was accepted as family.  I must admit I ended up spending almost all of my weekends at their place.  Frank and I would watch the German TV shows and news even though he never understood completely what was being said it was still interesting to him to watch.  By the time their stay in Germany was over I had become their 4th daughter.  I gained 3 sisters and Frank became my second Dad and Gloria my second Mom and Shadow my dog.  I have wonderful memories that have filled my heart every day.   I am so grateful to have been apart of Frank's life.   Rest in peace.

To Gloria, Christi, Jana and Jennifer I am sending my love and giant bear hug from your Canadian daughter and sister.

Saying goodbye. 
It’s always hard when love is involved. 
Seeds of love are sewn into our hearts and grow branches that hold memories of our lives, the memories of times that make us who we are today. 

The Nargie Family has a huge place in my heart. The love shown in their house between Frank and Gloria was a wonderful model of what love should look like. The love he showed his girls was something I envied. I have such found memories of being included in family dinners, playing cards, staying the night and sitting down to breakfast together. Watching Frank give both Jana and Christi away at their weddings. The ease of parenting they had, simply amazing. In my heart I see Frank sitting in his recliner with the TV on and a computer to the side with Shadow at his feet.  Thank you for touching comments on my posts on Facebook.  You will be missed❤️

Gloria called on Saturday evening to let Lisa & I know about Franks passing.  I am still numb today & our hearts are broken today. 

I see can still see his smile and hear his laugh.  Always pleasant and looking for the good things in life.   Frank never missed an opportunity to stop at our booth at a gun show and spend time with us when we were in town.  Frank is a good friend and will always share a special place in my heart as will his Gloria.

I am smiling right now realizing that while I can't call and bug him on the phone, Frank has now touched the face of God and is dancing across the clouds with the Angels.  All I have to do is close my eyes, and Frank  is right here.
