Frank Spivey, Jr. made his transition from this earthly life on Sunday, October 4, 2020, escorted by one of the Lord's Angels, to his new home at the blessed age of 76. He was born June 9, 1944, as one of six children in Alliance, Ohio to the union of Frank James Spivey and Della Berry.
On June 3, 1967, Frank married the one and only woman he ever loved, his wife of 53 years, Shirley Daniels. To this union came three daughters, Tammie, Lisa and Kimberly.
Frank was not an openly religious man, but he was a loving, caring and a kind man that everyone who got to know him couldn't say enough about how respectful he was to others. Mr. Kindness was his middle name.
After graduating from Alliance High School in 1962, he worked at Alliance Steel Factory and was later drafted into the army in 1963. After serving in the Army, Frank then married, Shirley Daniels, his high school sweetheart on June 3, 1967. They moved to Detroit, Michigan to start a new life in the big city. Frank took a job at General Motors for two years and later started his new job at United Parcel Service where he put in 31 years of service as a driver and clerk. He loved working there because it allowed him to interact with so many people. He loved to talk. And, people loved talking to him, as well.
After, he and his wife successfully raised their three daughters and both retired, they moved from Warren, Michigan to Las Vegas, NV. Frank's past times were cutting his beloved grass and going to the casinos to play and eat. One of the other things he loved to do was grocery shopping. He also loved to travel. Mainly, taking cruises. He would always say, travel while you can. As he got older, he would sit in his folding chair in the driveway every morning and wave at all the people going to work. They got use to him being there and looked forward to waving back at him five days a week.
Frank would say the list of friends he accumulated over the years was phenomenal. He would acknowledge the following people who touched his life in so many ways: Kotch Bergman (Las Vegas, NV), John and Pat Haddad (Las Vegas, NV), Ernest Hipp (Silver Springs, Md) Bill Wise (Peoria, AZ), Susie Parks (Las Vegas, NV), Joe & Francine Thomas (Las Vegas, NV), Sylvester & Shirley Sartin (Detroit, MI, John & Denise Lott (Detroit, MI), Greg Smith (Detroit, MI), Tony Whitney (Las Vegas, NV).
For those of you who are mourning my passing, don't cry. I'm fine and I had a good life for 76 years. In all those years, God Blessed me with a beautiful family and caring friends.
To these persons who survive me, my wife, Shirley Spivey of Las Vegas, NV and my three daughters; Tammie Renee Peterson of Atlanta, GA, Lisa Lanee Jasper (Travan) of Dunwoody, GA and Kimberly Denise Jones (David) of Duluth, GA; my six grandsons: Brandon Spivey of Detroit, MI, Davon Jones of Duluth, GA, David Jones of Duluth, GA, Kendall Jasper of Dunwoody, GA and Jordan Jasper of Dunwoody, GA.; my two sisters and one brother, Betty Young of Alliance, OH, Christine Spivey of Alliance, OH and Charles Spivey of Huntsville, AL and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Della and Frank James Spivey, and two sisters Mamie Pearl Kennedy and Della Mae Spivey and grandson Blake Jones.
I wasn't able to remember things as I once did while on earth the past year, but I won't forgot those that I loved. "All of You"
A funeral service for Frank will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A cremation will occur.
