Gabriela Hansen

Our beautiful daughter Gabriela “Gabby” Rochele Hansen was born May 30, 2001 in Lexington, KY. In Las Vegas, NV on August 20, 2016, at age fifteen, surrounded by her loving family, she peacefully returned home to her Father in Heaven due to complications from an allergic reaction. She is preceded in death by her infant twin brothers, Peter & Jacob, and survived by her parents, Dr. Blaine Roland and Katie Lindsey Hansen, her siblings, Lexie (17), Saige (12), Lilly (9), Luke (7), and Ellsie (2), her grandparents, Dr. Kent B. & Sylvia Hansen and Wayne & Marjorie Lindsey, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Gabby was excited to soon begin her sophomore year at Shadow Ridge High School where she planned to serve on Student Council and run track. Gabby loved running hurdles and one of her happiest moments was receiving her varsity letter as a freshman when she ran at regionals. An AP and honors student, Gabby never settled for less than an ‘A’. A light to all who knew her, Gabby had a testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ and knew she was a daughter of God. She served in Beehive and Mia Maid class presidencies for the Gilcrease Ranch Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a Beehive she earned her YW Medallion and was working diligently toward earning an extra Honor Bee. Gabby loved life and lived big. She rode horses from age eight, and was awarded four blue ribbons for equestrian riding at the Utah Summer Games. She also enjoyed singing with Zion’s Youth Symphony and Chorus. She loved vacations with her family, especially to Disneyland. She loved her family, her friends, her pet dogs, journaling, jokes, ice cream, fruit and cookie dough. All who knew her admired her quick wit and spunky personality. She was honest and kind, brilliant and thoughtful, helpful and happy, and so much more. Thank you for being ours, Gabby. “We love you forever, we love you for always, and no matter what.” Gabby’s funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 6051 Dorell Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89131, with a viewing prior at 9:00 a.m. She will be buried at Northwest Palm Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Shadow Ridge High School in Gabby’s name where there will be a scholarship in her behalf, or to your own family vacation fund to spend time with those you love most.
