Steve spent his childhood years living on his family ranch in Ft. McKavett, TX with his father, Louis Tisdale Jr, mother Jeanne Monk and his three brothers Larry, Ricky and Randy. Steve loved the ranch and was passionate about fishing and hunting with his brothers along the San Saba river there.
Steve spent two years of high school at Crockett High School in Austin, TX and graduated from Corpus Christi Carroll High School in 1974. After attending Southwest Texas State University for two years, Steve joined the Air Force and proudly served his country for four years. The next few years Steve returned to live at the family ranch helping his father work cattle, sheep and goats.
Steve lived his life between Texas and Las Vegas; Steve worked for the local Teamsters as an equipment operator for almost 30 years in Las Vegas, also during this time, Steve met the love of his life Christina Maria, to whom he was joyfully married to the past 13 years. His favorite past time was playing Texas hold'em. Steve was nicknamed "Cowboy" because of his black Stetson hat, boots and friendly personality with a strong Texas accent.
Most importantly, Steve's life journey was his love for the Lord. Steve would get up before dawn everyday and read his bible for hours. His walk with God was a profound example to others about where he found his strength, courage and acts of love and forgiveness. Steve based his life on his favorite scripture:
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phillipians 4:13
Steve loved his family deeply. Although Steve never had children, he loved Christina's children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews as his own. Steve is survived by his wife, Christina, brothers Larry and Randy Wright, aunt and uncle, Sherman and Anita Monk, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
