Good morning to all.

I am Aurea from the Philippines, that was March 13, 2017. I saw his name on my Facebook page. It made me wondered that is why I sent message to him then after nine days he replied me I was saying, you are handsome sir. I call him Mr. Austin then he laughed. Gary is such a good person to me he never rude to me even I am rude sometimes. 
He knows I am working with the kids and I was sending him pictures then he said, Auau I will feed your neighbor kids he sent me money then I was feeding the kids he does many times. Then he told me Auau I want that when I die people will never forget me. I was sending him messages  Christmas, New Year my messages still unharmed. My birthday is March then he will sing for me just this March I did not receive any message from him. Until Last March 18, 2021 I googled his name Gary Lee Austin then I read their The information he told me he was born in Germany and my heart melts because the last time he told me Auau please pray my friend who just passed away because I always told him that Vance and Cleola are always in the mass offering for the souls especially All soul's day I been doing that since 2017. Gary knows I blablabla a lot even from the beginning. I know he's happy that I did made this message to his family because I am not sure his family knows Gary helps kindergarten pupils more or less one hundred kids fed with chicken, with potatoes, carrots with little soup, rice and juice. Then the school principal told me to get video and kids saying Thank you for the wonderful lunch, Sir Gary. And Gary has video for that I sent to him and he was very happy and I was very happy to as instruments. I shared this story because I miss him and never the chance to talk to him when he was sick. The last time he was sick he told me Auau I was not feeling good seems his throat and I told him drink some tea then he said I will. Gary you said I am your bff and C4L..Thank you a lot. Rest in peace.

Gary was my cousin. When we met at our family reunion in Colorado for the first time it was like I had known him for years. Family I feel your pain. Sending love and a scripture that brought me comfort when my brother  died. Revelation 21.4.  Gods word says one day no more death pain or sorrow former things have passed away. Love 💘  you all.

I had the pleasure of meeting Gary in 1998.  Our paths crossed during our time training and working together for the NGCB.  He was a great mentor and friend.  I will always remember his sense of humor and never taking himself too seriously.  Rest well my friend.  You are greatly missed.

My cousin Gary was one of many cousins I got to know better when he traveled.  We shared conversations not only during family reunions but on several visits to different cities over the years.  I'll miss you cuz.  I'm happy to see your friends were able to see you as we do, a Broncos fanatic, funny, and having fine and humane qualities.

Well what can I say. Gary and I go back to our Jr & Sr years in High School. He became my best friend. We did everything together and played football together. He was the starting right defensive end and I was the starting right defensive corner in our Sr year. You would think how could he be a defensive end.  He probably weigh no more than 155-160lbs. But he had such a big heart and he was tough. We made a great combo on that side and you could not run on our side. And yes, you all are all correct about how much smack he talked on the basketball court. He could be hilarious. We were both military brats and would kind of fall out of touch from time to time as the years went by after high school as military brats tend to do but we would always find our way back to one another. Two days before he passed he message me and sent me something dogging my Cowboys. It was hilarious and I have to say he got me there. For those who don’t know, he was a 49er fan before he was a Bronco fan. He loved Gene Washington. That was his guy.  To the Austin Family: I know I’m been blessed to have known Gary.  Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his faithful ones. May he fill you with his peace at this time. May God bless you all an may Gary R.I.H.

My deepest condolences for the Austin family.  Gary was my mentor and a truly good friend.  It is very rare to have a boss and leader turn out to be a sincere friend as well.  Godspeed.

Like many others on here...I played basketball with Gary.  He was also my boss for a couple years.  Still getting over the shock of him being gone.  RIP Gary...you were one of a kind.

I was devastated to hear Gary had transitioned to be with our Maker.  It took me a while to come to grips with the loss of such a wonderful spirit.   I first me Gary while being recruited as a part his team in Vegas.  We  immediately hit it off and he became my mentor, confidant and friend.  We had the most fun as team mates on the unit’s basketball team where we took pride in winning back to back base championships.  Gary loved to talk smack to our opponents and get them out of their game.  I couldn’t understand why he was so crazy about Jay Cutler and the Denver Broncos but I accepted his boasting just the same.  We maintained our friendship after we both pursued other professions.  We last spoke a few months ago for a few hours and talked about everything from politics, our AF careers, relationships and of course sports and his a Broncos.   Gary always was the humor in the room along with the experience and wisdom.  I will miss his laughter and light that he so graciously shared with all of us.  I thank you my friend for allowing me to share your universe just for little while.  The Heavens have gained a new light.  May your spirit live on thru all of us and Rest In Peace my friend, my Brother!

Gary Lee Austin, what a fantastic man.  I met Gary Lee in 1990, we were stationed together in Las Vegas.  We didn't work in the same 
 building at the time but we did play basketball together and against each other at times.  Of course Gary talked smack, which was OK because he could back up his conversation on the court! I told him I was going to block his shot, he said "please".   I blocked it, he looked at me and we both started laughing on the court.  Gary Lee was a mentor to me when we supported the same organization as superintendents.  I was given a task from our commander, thinking I was ready to present my work to a man named Mr. Sharp, Gary asked me what was I getting ready to do.  I told him, he chuckled and made me realize how unprepared I was to present my information.  With some quick help, I was better prepared, met Mr. Sharp, went back to see Gary Lee after the meeting and we had another (of many) laugh-Gary was right, I wasn't prepared!  Eventually, after I retired from the Air Force I was fortunate to have Gary Lee as my boss.  Gary Lee was a fantastic leader, mentor and continued to be a friend.  He put a team of really good people together and taught us to become what he expected, be the best at what we do.  Gary also talked about his new golf game.  This is one area I knew I could teach Gary Lee something.  We played golf together twice, he was farily quiet, we had good fun!  
The night I heard Gary Lee passed away, I went outside, looked to the heavens, asked my mother to go find and meet Gary Lee and show him around Heaven.  I pray for Gary Lee's family and am very sorry for your great loss.  I know the pain and emptiness we feel at losing Gary Lee Austin is nothing compared to the joy and fun of having known him.  My family knew Gary and share in the saddness of his loss.  Thank you so much and rest in peace my brother Gary Lee.

I first met  Gary about 17 years  ago, and He became a person that I went to if I needed advice and  If I need someone to listen to me. Gary was always truthful, and talked to me as if we were bothers. Gary welcomed  my wife as he knew her from day 1. Never questioned  my relationship with her. Thank you...
I lost touch with Gary for a while but if I needed him,  I can promise you that Gary Austin would been there for me. We lost a good man. Rest In Peace Gary...

Was saddened when I heard the news of Gary passing.  My prayers and condolences to Gary Austin's family and friends. I met Gary at our job in Las Vegas.  Gary was a cool laid back guy.  He will be truly missed.  May God comfort everyone during this difficult time. Rest In Power Gary!

I first met Gary in 1980 I was an Airman at March Air Force Base, he was a Buck Sgt coming from Korea we were on the same flight. He was always sharp and a good mentor I remember when he made SSgt. 
We played on the squadron basketball team., he loved playing ball.
I ran back into Gary again in 2003,  21yrs later here in Las Vegas.  Gary was always competitive,  we had many battles playing John Madden head 2 head and online and he tried to get me on the golf course... sorry that didn't happen. 
The past 17 years it's been great touching base with him again.  
Rest In Peace my friend, you will be missed.

Gary aka "G" was a great man.  A great mentor and leader to so many people.  He was my Air Force boss for over 10 years.  He and I talked and/or text every day for the past several years.  We talked about everything and I do mean everything under the sun.  He knew my family and my family often asked about him.  He helped guide me through some of the most difficult times of my life and for that I will forever remember him, speak his name, and be grateful. He and I spoke alot about his family especially of his son and grandson.  He was so proud of them and loved spending time with them.  I last talked to Gary, my dear friend, my boy, "G", on October 26, morning.  I will forever cherish our time together and I will miss the daily calls and text messages. I love you my brother, Gary.  May he REST IN PEACE IN HEAVEN and may the family find some comfort and healing in the celebration of his life.  He was truly a great mentor, a great leader and a friend to all who knew him.  ----Franz 

Met Gary in 1984 when he was in the Air Force. Worked with him for over 27 years and over the course of those years, we became very good friends. He always called me "Gin Gin".  Our favorite hangout was the Oyster Bar at Sunset Station. Shared some great times there. He moved back to Vegas after retiring from his last job to be with his  son, daughter-in-law and grandson. That's the only place on earth that he wanted to be.  The last time I talked to him was about six weeks ago. He sent me a current pictures of himself and his grandson. He was there for me and my family when my husband passed away in April.  Love from my family to your's my friend! 

 My deepest sympathies to all of the Austin family.  What a tragic loss.  I hope you are consoled by knowing so many people share your pain. 
 Gary and I dated in high school and had been good friends again for the past several years.  We had reconnected and  I loved him very much.  He made me laugh and he made me feel beautiful.  In my darkest times, Gary would be the one to call and make sure I was ok. He became my best friend.  We were to meet on Nov.15 to watch the LV Raiders play the Denver Broncos.. I being a Raiders fan and you all know he loved those Broncos.   I will miss him forever.
