

RICHARD BRATTON Richard "Dick" Simpson Bratton, beloved husband, father and grandfather, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at the age of 89. He was born May 9, 1926, in Hillsboro, Ill., and was a resident of Nevada since 1967. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Bottineau from 1944 to 1946. Dick worked at the Nevada Test Site until he retired and then became a realtor. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Bratton; wife, of 47 years, Georgene Bratton; two sisters, Mildred and Martha; and an older brother, Neal. Dick is survived by his sons, Richard M. Bratton of Norwalk, Conn., and Vincent Bratton of Dallas; daughters-in-law, Rachel Derken-Bratton and Calvert Collins-Bratton; grandchildren, Nick, Jake, Joe, Ethan, Heather, Knaub, Derek and Vivienne; and great-grandchildren, Jessica and Russell. Memorial service in his honor will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146.
