Gene McDonald

Eugene Blain McDonald, 82, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2016. Gene was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1934 and was raised in Twin Falls, Idaho. Gene was very successful in the insurance industry early on his career, and spent the last 17 years of his career as a Distribution Manager for The Review Journal. Gene was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served the last 14 years of his life as the Stake Patriarch. Gene loved to fish, golf and take photos of his family. He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry McDonald. Gene is survived by his wife of 62 years, Faith; children Keith (Mashelle), Gary ( Barbara), Tracy ( Rosa), Julie ( Dell) and Blain. Gene is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday December 22, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30 at Palm South Jones Mortuary 1600 South Jones Blvd. A visitation will also be held on Friday December 23, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the LDS church 6601 West Twain Avenue with funeral service to follow at 1:00. Burial will be at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery 7251 W Lone Mountain Road at 3:00pm
