

George W. Armstrong Jr. George Webster Armstrong Jr., 70, of Las Vegas, passed away on October 1st, in the presence of family. He was born December 29th, 1943 in Scranton, PA, to George W. Armstrong Sr., and Mildred E. (Keisling) Armstrong. Known universally as "Butch" as a child, he attended Scranton Central High School and graduated in the class of 1961. After attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, he entered the Air Force and maintained F-105D aircraft at Nellis AFB. In 1966 he joined EG&G Special Projects (later JT3) and worked there as for 41 years as a Sr. Engineering Coordinator, providing logistical purchasing support for engineers working on Range Directorate projects, including NERVA and other classified projects. George greatly enjoyed amateur radio as callsign KB7ZLU, traveling especially on cruises, and his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law Jack Laino. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Margaret; 4 children: Kathy Laino, Dean (Peggy Wilkins), Wendy Culpepper (Michael), and Dan Raymond (Kandice); grandchildren Kevin, Jenna, Raymond, Cody, Ricky, Trennan, and Ciera; his sister Judith Armstrong of Hockessin, DE; aunt Esther Keisling of Clarks Summit, PA; uncle Bernard Keisling (Mary) of Scranton, PA; his ex-wife Judith (Gerlock) Armstrong of St. Joseph, MO, and many cousins. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 13th at 11AM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 N Jones Blvd.
