George R. Jacobs, 70, a retired branch manager of the U.S. Postal Service, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 27, 2013. He was born in Lima, Ohio, and was a resident of Las Vegas since 1965. George was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and was a diehard running Rebel basketball fan. George lived for spending summers at his cabin, which he built with his wife. He was an expert marksman with the shotgun, a certified instructor and taught gun safety for the state of Nevada. George was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian. He is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Linda; three children, Greg (Carol), Christopher and Kathryn; three grandchildren, Morgan, Gregory and Jared; and two sisters, Yvonne and Carolyn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
