On May 4th, 2019 George Posanke (76) passed into heaven peacefully in his sleep at home. His sister, Betty Jean, passed on the same day, six years earlier. Our LORD Jesus & BJ welcomed her little brother into heaven.
George was born in Chicago, IL. He graduated high school at Chicago Vocational and attended City College in San Diego. He was a lifetime fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago White Sox.
George worked in the printing and publishing field for over 50 years. He worked at RR Donnelly in Chicago. And when he moved to San Diego, he worked for Frye & Smith. Then he owned his own company, Posanke & Associates for a number of years. He also worked at Donovan Publishing in Newport Beach, CA and Digital Artist in Redondo Beach, CA. George was known to say, “I’ll never retire. I love what I do!” His current employer was Las Vegas Color Graphics, where he established many friends and clients.
George was a Renaissance man, multi-talented, an avid reader, an Jazz music lover, an fine arts collector, an aviator, a corporate pilot for Frye & Smith, well-versed in the construction trades which he learned from his father and the plumbing trade from his beloved brother-in-law, Tom. He truly loved the game of golf and was a professional Photographer for Executive Golfer publication. He was a wine connoisseur and enjoyed tending to his multiple rose bushes (wine & roses, a true romantic!) He was a member of Toast Masters International, the National Rifle Association, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the Elkhorn Well Association in Las Vegas and was always the “behind the scenes” volunteer, helping his wife, at Lamb of God Lutheran Church & School.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George & Hazel Posanke and his sister, Betty Jean (Tom) Kelly.
He is survived his wife, Elizabeth Smith-Posanke. And is survived by his sister, Carol (Harold) Rusthoven, his first wife, Ginger Thaler, the mother of his sons: George (Kayleen) Posanke III,

He is also survived by many cherished friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
George & Elizabeth (Beth) were married for 32 years and were members of Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, where we proclaim:
“GOD is good all the time! And all the time, GOD is good!”
