

Gladys was born June 12, 1932 in Panama City, Panama to Tomas and Petra Moreno. She met her husband, Joseph Malone, who was stationed in Panama and was married in 1953. They were married for 43 years before his passing. Eleven years later, she had a second chance at love when he met Marvin Stark. They were married in 2008.
Gladys attended nursing school in Panama and continued her education in the United States where she earned her Nursing Degree from Georgia Southwest State College in Americus, GA in 1960. After Joseph’s transfer to Nellis AFB, in 1962, she worked at Women’s Hospital. In 1965, she began her civil service career at Nellis AFB hospital as a clinical obstetrics nurse in Labor and Delivery. She continued her education, attending Nurse Practitioner school at the Health Science Center in Texas. After graduating in 1975, she return to Nellis and worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the OB/GYN clinic. She added to her education a Master Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado in 1984. During her 42 years of civil service at Nellis, she received many awards including Air Force Chief of Staff Excellence Award and Air Warfare Center Civilian Category II of the Year 2004. She worked at Nellis until she retired at 75.
Gladys loved being around her family, traveling, volunteering, especially with Habit for Humanity with husband Marvin, eating good food, playing games, cooking for holidays and special events. Education was very important to Gladys and she always encouraged others to further their education. She always said “Education was something that cannot be taken from you.”
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Stark, son Joseph Malone Jr. and daughter-in-law Linda, son Dana Malone and daughter-in-law Becky, son Rick Malone and daughter-in-law Joyce, her daughter Karen Davy and son-in-law Tom, daughter Bonnie Malone, niece Carlotta Dickerson and wife Tam. In addition, she is survived by fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and soon to be blessed with 10th grandchild and two great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7 pm, August 21, 2023 at Palm Downtown Mortuary. Funeral service will held a Christ the King Catholic Church on August 22, 2023 at 12pm. Entombment to following at Palm Downtown
