Born on March 31, 1941, in Syracuse, New York, Grace lived a life full of compassion, dedication, and joy. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched many lives with her kindness and unwavering support.
Grace is survived by her children: Stephanie Suriano (Rudy), James Padgett (Michele), Jacqueline Arnold (Will), and Katherine Bartlett (Eric). She was the proud grandmother of Andrew and Cody Suriano, Mikela and Tiani Lee-Manaois, Clinton and Thomas Arnold, and Kaylee, Gavin and Kaia Bartlett, and great-grandmother to Rowan Goldstein. Her brothers, William (Vanida) and Thomas ( Dede) Baker and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Padgett, and her cherished grandson Connor Bartlett.
Throughout her life, Grace served with dedication and pride in Civilian Personnel for the U.S. Air Force, later working at the base library and Mervyn’s department store. She also volunteered with the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Grace loved the simple joys of life—playing card games, bingo nights, trips to the movies, and lunches with her dear friends. She had a special place in her heart for animals and cared for a lively menagerie over the years. Her home was a haven not just for pets, but for friends and family in need, offering comfort, safety, and unconditional love.
A woman of deep faith, Grace believed in the promise of heaven and looked forward to reuniting with her loved ones. She lived with strength, independence, and generosity, always ready to lend a hand or open her heart.
A memorial service will be held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City on August 27 at 2:00 PM, followed by a graveside interment. A Celebration of Life will take place afterward at the home of James and Michele Padgett.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the American Cancer Society in Grace’s memory.
