Dr. Grzegorz Stanisław Obara

After fighting each battle cancer threw at him, Gregory passed away on August 16, 2024 at his home. Gregory was born in Olsztyn, Poland to Ludmiła & Czesław Obara, and had two siblings Ewa and Lech. After a childhood accident which led him to a spend several years in the hospital, watching the doctors, he determined he wanted to attend the medical academy in Gdańsk, Poland to become a medical doctor. His life and medical journey led him from Gdańsk, to Westerburg, Germany, where he married his wife Ursula in 1986 and had his only child Dorotka in 1987, to Atlanta, Cleveland, and finally ending up in Las Vegas in 1997. He became board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. He joined Comprehensive Cancer Center of Nevada in 1999 where he worked very hard to help his patients. He was extremely dedicated and passionate about his field and the people he cared for. He loved to travel with his wife, spend time with his daughter and her family, watch Golden Knights, opera, good wine, soccer and read about all things WWII and communism related, having participated in the Solidarność movement. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ursula Obara, and his daughter Dorotka Ochoa and two granddaughters, Kyra & Esme Ochoa.
