Gurdev Singh Dhami, was an amazing, kind, passionate and hard working human being. Bhapa ji was born into a military family and was the second oldest amongst his 4 siblings. His family moved to India after the
partition which he never forgot. He spent most of his youth at his Nana’s house. He lived an honest life where he believed in hard work and a never give up attitude. He fulfilled all his relations of husband, father,
grandfather and great grandfather to the fullest. He raised his five daughters to be humble, hard working and instilled them with good values of family. He raised his daughters without any prejudice even though back then sons were more coveted . His wife of 60 years, stood beside him through all the challenges and worked alongside. They both showed no matter what the circumstances or challenges are, always have a positive attitude towards life and take one challenge at a time. He worked even harder when he moved to US. Bhapa ji lived a life of a true Sikh and believed in Sewa, Simran and Kirat. He was the foundation of our family and we all sought advice from his wisdom. He was a true guide to all of us and taught us circumstances do not stay the same and not to lose hope when things do not go your way.
He is survived by his youngest sister, 5 daughters, 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Bhapa ji has left a void in our life which will never be filled. His presence will truly be missed by all of his family and friends. If reincarnation is true, we all wish to have him as our father, grandfather in our next life.
A visitation for Gurdev will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
