Beloved Hazel Wenger Osier was born on March 25, 1920, on a ranch in Alder, Montana to Fritz and Irene Wenger. Hazel was a truly beautiful and brilliant force of nature, living every day of more than 102 years full of life and a constant magnificent expression of living love. She dearly loved her parents and her 5 brothers and sisters, Iris, Merle, Cleo, Albert, and Jules. She was raised with a deep love and reverence for family, the earth, and its creatures. She married her sweetheart Joseph Osier on October 18, 1938, in Butte, Montana by a blind Justice of the Peace and they began a lifelong relationship of love, purity, goodness, partnership, happiness, and family. On their 50th anniversary they married again on a cruise ship in the Caribbean Sea surrounded by all their children, family, and friends. Hazel truly knew who she was, what’s important in life and led her life with grace, wisdom, and dignity.
As the compassionate matriarch of her large beloved family, she led with her heart creating a deep and everlasting lineage of love for all. Hazel had a deep profound gift in mothering. Her four children Chuck, Iris, Carole, and Ginette were her heart and soul and she mothered them with enduring love, power, compassion, and grace.
Hazel extended the same love and caring to her children’s children. She has 11 grandchildren: Colette, Brian, CJ, Mike, Marc, Julie, Lee, Cheryl, Matthew, Andrew, and Michael. Her 16 Great Grandchildren are Nicole, Aimee, Grace, Charlie, Catie, Gabrielle, Penelope, Aidan, Joseph, Anna, Zoe, Miles, Sienna, Lucas, Malcolm, and Griffin. Hazel’s 2 Great-Great Grand Children are Adelyn and James. Beyond this there are literally hundreds of blessed people she has mothered, taught, raised, and graced by her love. As she met you, she loved you. She shared love wherever she was whatever was happening throughout her life well lived.
An Angel among us, Hazel lived and loved full out for more than 102 years. She was magical, loved beyond belief, and was loved and adored by all. She has a profound soul, full of light, and her pure heart extended love and joy to everyone she met. Hazel’s Superpower is Love. She always extended her hand and heart, imbuing people’s lives with love. She loved life and fully lived in the moment. Her life is a legacy of love, happiness, service, and fun.
To know and be with her was like living heaven on earth. She loved a good adventure, traveling and learning. Along with loving a good party, she knew how to make life each day a celebration. Hazel was also a wise woman with a silence, stillness, and peace. Leading by example, she showed deep strength, drive, and a joy of bringing her wit, wisdom, and fun to every moment. She showed us how to live a great life by authentically living hers.
She had incredible connection with people, nature, animals, and a remarkable gift to touch anything with love and see it grow, be it a lemon tree, a rose, or a person. She enjoyed cooking delicious food with love, a good baseball game, and played an awesome game of cribbage.
Hazel was an entrepreneur her whole life. In the 50’s she became the top Tupperware salesperson in California. She worked at the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Bureau for 30 years, retiring at the young age of 90, but staying very involved as a real estate investor her entire adult life. Hazel loved life and it loved her back.
People everywhere that were touched by her brilliant presence would ask her “What is your secret?” She carried great knowledge about love and the pioneering of longevity. She walked, exercised, and lifted weights every morning for decades. She loved herself and lived her deep faith in God and Love.
Hazel flew home to God’s heart in Grace at home, snuggled in her own bed, surrounded in love, light, prayers, family, puppies, and roses.
Thank you Beautiful One, we are so grateful for you, we love you and will carry you with us in our hearts forever.
