The cause was lung cancer. Heidi was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts, the eldest daughter of Elizabeth Ann (Rawson) and Norman (Aime) Gauthier. In 1993, Heidi and her cat Honey moved to San Francisco where she met her future husband William Correll at Coffee Ron’s, where he was a cook and she a server. The couple moved to Las Vegas Nevada where they resided for more than 25 years. She was employed in the hospitality/food service industry as well as retail. Heidi was an early and proud feminist, a nearly life-long vegetarian, a lover of fashion and a good bargain. She possessed a great sense of style, a sharp wit, and a fierce independence. She had a Wikipedic knowledge of movies, actors, popular culture, and politics. She loved punk rock and hardcore music, particularly Black Flag. A devoted animal lover, she adopted numerous dogs and cats and cared for the feral cats in her neighborhood. She spent her free time hiking trails throughout Nevada and the Southwest with her dogs and husband. She was an avid traveler, having visited Hong Kong in 1990 with her good friends Paula and Jeff Wong, and later in life toured Europe 8 times on river cruises. She was predeceased by her parents, stepmother Theresa (Harrington) Gauthier, and stepbrother Steven Cloutier. She is survived by her husband, sisters Karen Souza, Paula Gauthier and her wife Valerie Bassett, stepsiblings Kathy Silva (husband William), Michael Cloutier (wife Mary), and Joann Suneson (husband Peter), and her dear nephew Mark Souza (wife Lynn) and their children Emma and Benjamin. Donations in her memory may be made to The Animal Foundation of Las Vegas
