Helene's passion in life was her family. If she could, she never missed a birth, graduation, school play, sporting event, birthday or wedding. Just a few months before she passed she traveled to her grandson's wedding across the country where she was a proud flower grandma, and then back to the west coast to meet her first great granddaughter who had just been born. If you needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to share a glass of wine with, she was always there.
Her other passion was cruising. She loved vacations with her husband, Louis Goldfinger, who passed away in March, 2019. We lost count of how many cruises they went on. They would go together or with their family and friends. They were always the life of the party. Helene made friends with everyone. She couldn't pass a person at the store, at the airport, at a sporting event, pretty much anywhere she went and not make friends with someone.
Helene grew up in Brooklyn, New York to Hilda and Moses Roth. She was very proud of being a New Yorker and would tell anyone who would listen that she was a Brooklyn girl. She married Louis in March of 1958, raised 3 children together, and they were married for almost 61 years before his passing. She was a stay at home mom who loved raising her children and then went back to working in retail after her kids were grown.
Helene is survived by her brother, Philip Roth; children, Robin Good (David), Lawrence Goldfinger (Josephine), and Andrew Goldfinger (Denise); grandchildren, Danielle Powell (Mike), Rachel Humboldt, Ryan Goldfinger, Steven Goldfinger, Kevin Goldfinger (Valeria), Zane Goldfinger, Christopher Schmidt (Autumn), McKenna Hupp (Sofia), Madison Good, Sean Good (Madeleine), Rachel Good, Travis Good; great grandchildren, Jaxon Humboldt, Jaymes Humboldt, Cameron Powell, Brynn Powell, Charlie Filice, Tyler Califf, Raiden Schmidt, and many nieces and nephews and friends who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on November 14th at the Veteran's Cemetery in Boulder City immediately followed by a reception. Location to be announced at a later date.
