

Hollis Brown, 87 a retired miner of the Department of Defense, of Las Vegas, passed away October 4, 2012. He was born October 8, 1924 in Camden, Arkansas, and had been a resident of Nevada since 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Roberta Brown; siblings, Fred Brown and Everlean Terry; and children, Hollis, Jr., Gray and Daphne Brown. Hollis is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Delores Brown; four children of Las Vegas, NV, Allen (Joyce) Sanders of Las Vegas, Charlett Lee Leaks, LaSondra Hudson, and Arlita Brown; four children of Ypsilanti, MI, Isaac Brown, Gwen (Kingley) Arimah, Centha (Ira) Williams and Debra (Charlie) Flower; 30 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; sister, Esther Jacobs; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10 from 3-7pm at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. The funeral will be on Thursday, October 11th at Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave, Las Vegas, NV. Arrangements were made by Palm-South Jones.
