To the Family of Deacon Huey Johnson our condolences. He was a friend among friends. His wisdom and the ability to understand everyone and everything around him. We will miss our Friend and Brother who I had a chance to be a Deacon with at Saint James. Rest in Peace until we meet again. Pastor George and Freda Riles.

Dear Mrs. Johnson, Tracy, Terrance and family. I just wanted you let you know that I send my deepest condolences to you all. Your husband, and father was truly a great person and I always looked up to him for being such a great person. It saddens me that I couldn't be there to share your sorrow and grief. You will continue to remain in my prayers.

We send our deepest sympathy to the Johnson family. It was heartbreaking to hear of Mr. Johnson's demise. However, we know that he is in the very presence of God, because he lived his life in anticipation of meeting the Master.

Mr. Johnson was one of our teachers at Western High School during the mid 1970's. Our memories of him are he was an excellent teacher, he cared about his students, he was a family man, he was a man of God and he lived an honorable life.

It is with great sadness that the Lord has taken him so soon.

The Johnson family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hello my name is Tashunda Woods. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada where I met Mr. Huey L. Johnson. I will never forget him for he was a man that had a big heart.Mr. Johnson always made people feel welcomed ,and I felt like he was a God Dad to me. Where we worked at which was the South Continuation High School he was an Example of a Real Man. In my heart he was definitely a" Legend."He would tell the students on how to present your themselves so they would have self respect. He would go on to say how a Young Man is suppose to treat a Young Lady...He had that all in order. I remember asking him if he would be having a class so we could bring the Young men their so they could get educated on how we would as Young women would want to be treated.. God works in mysterious ways because I've been saying I wanted to get the South Continuation Family together and as time went on it never happened.I was just looking through some things from a while ago, and I came across the paper Mr. Johnson had given me..which was the 7 Habits which in life we need to go by. At that point I had been thinking about him and the  Family. Mr. Johnson Has A beautiful Family ,From his Wife, Son, Daughter and to the grand.He was a beautiful Rose that bloomed.Planting seeds among each life he came across. Much prayer and love.  Deacon Johnson was given the opportunity to give the benediction at Victory, on April 6, 2014.  He inspiringly prayed us out of service.  I shall always remember him that way.  A man of God and willing to serve.  Pat I am as near as the phone.

To Huey Johnson and family from Rev. Henry Franklin. I think of all of the times that we spent together during our high school days at Bloom. Gonna miss having the opportunity to know that you're close. God bless your family. And may you rest in the arms of our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Huey fly high My Brother for my life was really enhanced by you being apart of it.I`m so thankful I had a chance to see you before you took the baton on the last leg to be with God.

The minute I received the news, my heart would not accept it. So, I had to call and it was verified. No words can express the pain that I felt and still feel today. God said he will never put no more on us than we can bare. Today I am standing on His Word/Promises. This is the only way I can get through this pain. Coach (Johnson) as we affectionally called you. I just spoke to you the Thursday before you were called home to be with the Lord. It was so good to see you and reminisce about the past.
