Hugh Shirkey, 99, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a full life of love. A proud Navy veteran of World War II, a master electrician by trade, and with unwavering dedication to his family, beloved UNLV Running Rebels and the L.A. Dodgers.
He was a master fisherman, happiest with a rod in hand and a story to tell. Whether at home or on the creek bed, Hugh was a friend to everyone he met—always ready with a warm smile, helping hand, or wise word.
Loved by all, Hugh’s life was a shining example of strength, humility, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Miss you Papa
