Jacob Scott Nordin was born on November 30, 1985, in Minnesota, and passed away on November 8, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada, after being struck in his motorized wheelchair by a Toyota Tundra hit-and-run driver near his home. He was 39 years old.
Jacob was known for his creativity, determination, and gentle spirit. Before an accident that left him with paralysis on his right side and a brain injury, he worked as a welder and took great pride in building and creating things with his hands. Even after his life changed, Jacob’s resilience and ingenuity never wavered. He turned his apartment into a workshop full of tools & tape, vice grips, and remote car engine parts. He would say, “Mommm, I like it. I like to do this stuff!”
He adapted to his circumstances, lived independently, and continued pursuing his hobbies with remarkable strength and optimism.
Jacob loved Jesus and the Bible training he received in Sunday School at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti, MN; North Valley Baptist School in Redding, CA; and Camp Jim in Brainerd, MN, when he was younger. He developed a peace about spending eternity in heaven based on his faith in God. Jacob would say, “Jesus is My Homeboy!”
When he applied himself in school, Jacob got A++ in Bible and A++ in shop!! Jacob was a smart kid which carried him through to adulthood as his Right Brain took over for the damaged Left Side. He was a trooper through so many obstacles!
He is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Lori and Tim Romer; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished him deeply and hold fond memories of his humor, warmth, and kindness from his younger years. He never missed a Birthday message or a chance to FaceTime his cousins to share laughs together!
Jacob’s life was a testament to perseverance, creativity, and courage. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved him until we meet again in our Forever Home in Heaven!
A visitation for Jacob will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
