James was a resident of Las Vegas Nevada and a proud Marine. He was survived by his parents Patti Smith and Howard Abernathy, children Tara and Cody Abernathy, his sisters Jene’ Acevedo (husband Joel) and Kensie Smith, grandchildren Brayden, Brycen and Kenzie Abernathy, nieces Dominique, Adrianna, Jene’ (goddaughter), Kenna and nephew Mason. He also had 2 great nephews, Levi and Giovanni and 3 great nieces, Stormi, River and Arianna and many more loving family members and friends. James is also survived by his former wife and dear friend, Victoria Carroll, with whom he shared many cherished memories, and a lasting friendship.
He is now resting in eternal paradise with his grandparents Lawrence and Vera Prahl and his very proud bonus father David Smith.
Services will be held Friday July 17th at 8:40 am at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive Boulder City, NV 89005.
