

With heavy hearts, we announce that James (Jay) Leffall passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. James was born on December 4, 1965 to James Earl Leffall and Cynthia Gibson. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Johnny Lorigo, who he affectionately called “Pops. Their love and guidance remained a steady foundation throughout his life. He grew up in Oakland, California and attended McClymonds High School. He later attended Chabot College, Holy Names College and Laney College and got his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business from University of Phoenix in 2012. He eventually moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he worked at Treasure Island before transitioning into the construction industry with Tilson technologies.
James was an entrepreneur and was in the early stages of building a small trucking business. He was an avid Golden State Warriors fan and enjoyed watching sports. Waking up to ESPN sports center was a tradition in our house.
He was a kind, loving soul with a quiet spirit, whose greatest joy was the love he shared with his family and friends. His faith was strong, and his belief in Christ was unwavering.
James cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his wife Nani Leffall, daughters Breehana Leffall, Jordyn & Kylie Garrett; his granddaughter, Brielle White; his Pops, Johnny Lorigo; and his niece, Ryan Lorigo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Lorigo and his brother, Sean Lorigo.
Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
