It is with great sadness that we share the passing of James Walter Lucy at the age of 60 years old at his Las Vegas, NV home. James’ battle with pancreatic cancer ended on May 30, 2020.
James was born on April 23,1960 in Hamilton, OH to the late Jesse and Rebecca Lucy (née Unrue) of Greenville, Ohio. James joined the United States Air Force in May of 1982. He Proudly served his country and retired in June 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. During his military service he met his first wife Elizabeth Lucy (née Bautista) and had four sons and one adopted daughter together.
James’ sarcastic humor and generous heart will be missed by many. He had an endless arsenal of Dad jokes and a laugh that can fill a room. An amazing father, James was passionate and supportive of his children’s interests. His love and appreciation for good food, wine, and music were lovingly passed down to his children. James loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and going on road trips. He is known to tell many stories of his adventures and misadventures.
James is survived by his second wife, Imelda Lucy (née Somera) of Hawaii.
James was a devoted father to his daughter Rosalie Lucy Duffee and her husband Robert Duffee of Deltona, FL; to his sons Justin Lucy of Portland, OR, Tyler Lucy of Las Vegas, NV, Jean-Pierre Lucy of Las Vegas, NV, and Sean Michael of Portland, OR. He was grandpa to three grand children, Austin James Duffee and Oliver Duffee of Deltona, FL and Autumn Lucy of Las Vegas, NV.
James will be sorely missed and survived by his brother Larry Lucy and his wife Jill Lucy of DeTour Village, MI, sister Joyce Lucy of Germany, brother Bill Lucy of Greenville, OH, and David Lucy and his wife Karyl Lucy of Taylors, SC, his nephews and nieces, Chris Lucy, Scott Lucy, Terri Lucy, Christina Lucy, David Lucy, Rachel Lucy, Sarah Lucy, and Josh Lucy.
James was preceded in death by his nephew, Kenneth Lucy.
