James E. Meredith

James E. Meredith, 83, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021. He was born September 19, 1937, in Ottawa, IL, to Merle Meredith and Virginia Meredith. James served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-April 25, 1979. He married Jeanne C. Veilleux February 1, 1958 in Maine. James studied for 12 years and took many classes at the community college. He retired March 9, 2001, from the City of Las Vegas Water Pollution Control Facility. James' hobbies included jogging, racket ball, fishing, white water rafting and building model air planes. He was an avid reader, loved history and drinking Budweiser. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; and siblings, Judy, Don and Renee Meredith. James is survived by his daughter, Dawn Meredith-Fritts (Lucky), Vicky Meredith and Bruce Veilleux; grandchildren, Colby Radel (Kayla), Ryan Radel, and Shelby Radel; and two great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Zoey Radel. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grand-father who enjoyed his family and will be truly missed.

A visitation for James will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 21, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A reception will occur Friday, May 21, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A cremation will occur.
