

CMSgt James Patrick “JP” Pouliot, (Ret), 72, of Las Vegas died on Jan 12, 2018, surrounded by his family. JP was born on Sep 16, 1945, in Massachusetts, to the late Theodore Pouliot and Alice Clark. In addition to his parents, JP was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Pouliot; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. JP is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara (Pellis); sister, Sandy McKee (Duane), son, James Pouliot (Mikki); grandsons, Kenneth and Logan Pouliot. JP served 30 years in the US Air Force (1962-1992) and rose to the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant. During the Vietnam War he earned the AF Commendation Medal for detecting and apprehending two armed intruders. JP became a First Sergeant in 1978 and was later assigned as Director of Base Administration at Edwards AFB. In 1990 he was the Command winner of the Lance P. Sijan Leadership Award. After retirement, he enjoyed raising his grandson, playing golf, blackjack, and bowling. JP was a California Highway Patrol senior volunteer in the Antelope Valley and served on the PTA. He was a member of St Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, AFA, AFSA, VFW, and American Legion. JP was a devoted family man, mentor and the glue that kept family and friends together. He cherished the people in his life and will be missed by all. JP will be remembered for his patriotism, big heart, and warm smile. Visitation will be held Thurs, Feb 1 at Palms Mortuary Northwest, 6701 N Jones Blvd from 3-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Fri, Feb 2 at 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 6350 N Fort Apache Rd. Interment with full military honors will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City. The family requests donations to Disabled American Veterans or Make a Wish Foundation.
