James "Jimmy" Lavern Seewald died January 13th, 2016 at the age of 53, but his unique sense of humor and larger-than-life persona will always be remembered. "Jimmy," as his friends called him (and everyone was his friend), was born on January 11th, 1963 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was the oldest child of Joy Wilson & the late James Anton Seewald. He would spend the greater part of his life in Muskegon, where he attended Oakridge Public Schools and later graduated from Central Christian Academy. As a popular figure in the community, he thrived in school as a member of band and track before graduating in 1981. It was here that he met his then wife Anita. Together they founded Fa-Ho-Lo Family Homes, a point of pride for Jimmy. By the age of 44, however, Muskegon couldn't hold him anymore, and Jimmy moved to Las Vegas, where he lived his life amongst friends and his beloved partner Jo-Ann Ellah. For all who knew Jimmy, he was innately their dearest friend the type of friend who somehow starred as "the instigator" for every good story and provided a jovial disposition for otherwise mundane events. Jimmy brought light to every situation, turning sad moments into hopeful ones or lightening awkward situations with a wisecrack at his own expense (and others if needed). When he wasn't busy being the life at every party, Jimmy poured his boundless creativity and focus into making his numerous homes beautiful. Be it a lakeside brick verandah or an underwater themed fireplace mantle, Jimmy ensured that every one of his houses was his home through diligent work, unparalleled craftsmanship, and, at times, borrowed hard labor (to the behest of his sons). Jimmy leaves behind his two sons James "Nate" Seewald (Kalyn Ann) and Heith Seewald (Amber Paige), as well as his grandchildren Soley, Haley, Sofia, Liam, Ariah, Logan, and Linus; his mother Joy Wilson (Ken); his sister Janet Williams (Terry), his niece Joy Jewett, and nephew TJ Williams (whom Jimmy considered a third son); his sister Carrie Seewald and many other foster siblings; his cherished Jo-Ann Ellah; and his many, many friends. It is true that everyone who knew Jimmy loved him. Nothing better shows the intensity of that love than the fact both of his sons named their own sons after him. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Palm Mortuary Downtown. Though he is no longer with us, Jimmy's wit, humor, and creativity will continue to live on through the future generations Jimmy has forever influenced.
