James Lawrence Stangby

James Lawrence Stangby, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on August 17,2013, surrounded by family and friends at the age of 76. James' zest for life, good humor and cheer will be greatly missed by all who called him friend. Resident of Las Vegas for 55 years and a proud member of Sheet Metal Local 88 for 48 years, James loved his community. His greatest passions in life were his love of golf and the camaraderie of his friends. He was a 20 year resident of Sun City and active member of the Sun City Summerlin Men's Eighteeners.

James is survived by his wife of 49 years, LaNeil; daughter, Suzanne; grandchilderen Dylan and Amanda; brother, Thomas; nephews, Noah and Joshua, along with many other caring family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille; bothers, Quinn and John and beloved daughter, Tammy.

The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 21st at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. A Celebration of Life party will follow at Beanos, hosted by his cherished friends and family. The family would like to thank all who have shared in James' life for the many wonderful memories.
