James "Jim" E. Tinney, 87, went peacefully to be with the Lord Friday, July 6, 2012. Jim was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Bolton, Ga. He moved to Las Vegas in 1955, and became a successful businessman and investor. Jim is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Virginia; sons, Richard (June) Barden, Michael (Renee) Barden and Alan (Robyn) Tinney; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two sisters; and one granddaughter. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the family name to Shadow Hills Baptist Church.
