

Jay Burnside Crawford passed away peacefully with his family by his side May 20th, 2026. He was born to Helen and Lawrence Crawford in Meeker, Colorado on April 16th, 1940. He and his two younger sisters, Patsy and Peggy were raised by a widowed mother and grew up in Parachute, Colorado. Jay graduated from Grand Valley High School and received an associate’s degree at Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado. He married Joyce Martin and they raised two children, Joby and Jeri in Rifle, Colorado. Jay and Joyce owned & operated Phillip's 66 stations in Rifle and Moab, Utah. They enjoyed traveling to Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Jay enjoyed photography, writing in his journal, automobile racing and basketball.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle that cared for his family very much. He is survived by his sisters, Patsy Dillon her husband Stewart, Peggy Franklin and her husband Roger, as well as his children, Joby Crawford his wife Marie, Jeri and her husband Gerd Schopp. He also leaves his grandchildren; Ryan Schopp his wife Alex, Erica Schopp her partner Jeff and Jayze Crawford. As well as his great grandchildren, Davis and Georgia Schopp and many nieces and nephews.

A Committal Service will be held at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, US, on May 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
