After many years as a professor of anthropology, Jay went on to earn a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. It was in psychotherapy that he found his calling. Jay was the founder of Parts and Memory Therapy, a therapeutic practice that uses memory reconsolidation to help neutralize emotional trauma by healing wounded Parts of the self. His books on Parts and Memory Therapy have been translated into several languages, and he was invited to conduct PMT training workshops and lectures nationwide. The Parts and Memory Therapy Institute continues his work.
Jay is survived by his wife, Dina; his children, Darcy Noricks, Jacob Noricks and Siena Holland; his grandson, Jaxson Navarro; and his brother, Michael Noricks. He will be remembered for his intellectual curiosity, his dedication to healing, and the lasting impact of his work on students, clients, colleagues, and family.
